Introducing “The Working Girl’s Guide”

Welcome to The Working Girl’s Guide—a segment on Her Stash for every girl navigating the chaotic, confusing, and often contradicting world of work and money.

Whether you’re clocking in for a corporate job, pulling doubles in the service industry, freelancing from your phone, or chasing startup dreams, this space is for you. We know the traditional advice doesn’t always speak to our lived realities. We’re done with the hustle-culture clichés, the outdated money rules, and the tone-deaf career advice from people who’ve never been where we are.

That’s why we created The Working Girl’s Guide: a real, unfiltered look at how Gen Z women are building financial stability, navigating career choices, and making meaning out of money—on their own terms.

What’s Coming

To kick things off, we’re starting with the basics—because everyone, regardless of the industry, needs a solid foundation. The Working Girl’s Guide will begin by breaking down the money essentials: budgeting, saving, investing, building credit, filing taxes and setting financial goals that actually make sense for your lifestyle. Whether you’re new to managing your own finances or just trying to make sense of where your paycheck goes every month, this series is here to help you build confidence and clarity around your money—without the jargon, judgment, or pressure to have it all figured out.

Here’s what you can expect from this series:

  • The Corporate Girl’s Guide: For the 9-to-5ers, the consultants, and the career climbers who are negotiating salaries, dodging burnout, and learning how to advocate for themselves in systems that weren’t built for them.
  • The Service Girl’s Guide: For the baristas, servers, nannies, and everyone making cash tips and balancing emotional labor with financial survival.
  • The Gig Girl’s Guide: For the freelancers, the side hustlers, the Instacart drivers, and content creators piecing together income from different platforms.
  • The Entrepreneurial Girl’s Guide: For the girls building something of their own—from tech companies to bookkeeping businesses, from Depop stores to digital media companies lol. We’re definitely not experts, but hopefully we can figure it out together. Tune in every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm EST for new posts.
